This is just a shout out to all the folks that helped build the ice over the last two weeks. Having never seen the process, I really didn't appreciate the process of building good ice. I skated on it last night and I gotta say, its the best I've seen here in Houston.
So..I wanted to thank all of those who came to the rink and gave of their time to help get the rink back up and running. Special thanks DEFINITELY need to go to Jeff Stone, Darren Riggle, Molly Farrel (and her friend who got roped into sticking around), Katherine the GM, Dave and many others (you know who you are!!!). Due to their dedication and many sleepless nights, we've got good ice that hopefully none of us take for granted. When you see these folks...give them a "BIG THANKS"!!!!
Good work ice gods.... TnT91

Thanks, Tony. It was fun, and your help and company was invaluable! There were MANY others who helped at various stages, adn it was all just what we needed at just the right time. Thanks so much for everyone's efforts! Game on!

I'm so never going to let Chris forget that you gave a shout out that included my name. (Unlike him, see SCNHL board XP haha)

Seeing the youth on the ice is thanks enough. Appreciate the bump for sure.
I know the faces that showed up in the evenings and late night were an inspiration for all the perspiration and long hours. I learned a lot, enough to know i would not choose it as a profession. Its definitely a job based upon passion and pride.
Have you noticed the edges: Stone's idea of keeping the water from slumping at the boards sure has the ice looking good.
I was proud to be a "Hoser" and share the duty with my fellow ice-makers. It was the down-time (watching ice freeze has nothing over watching grass grow) that we got to know how each of us made it through the storm and see the families putting out the effort to get things back in shape at the arena.
Looking for smiling faces ... and seeing friends back on the ice!!
