Canada goes for its 6th in a row from Regina, Saskatchewan USA won its only gold 6 years ago when it was played in Halifax, Nova Scotia(New Scotland), Canada. They are serious contenders.

I agree, USA was a contender, an undaunted and mighty one at that. The tournament showed their character throughout the series, comebacks, and amazing energy.
To be sure, it was amazing how the Canucks managed to even the score in the 3rd period. That effort would have broke most team's spirit (and carved a hole in a goalies brain), and then to come back out on the ice for the 20 min sudden death OT session.
A quote from Brooks, still applies to teams that win those kind of battles: "I want speed and excitement, and I want our players to go out there and have the times of their lives."
Team USA and coaches have demonstrated their spirit, and have great moments to remember, and tell the great stories to the young ones to follow.

I think what the big D Riggle is trying to say is that Canada was a really good team, the best! But we beat em! I don't know how, but those kids beat a really good team. (I guess that makes them the better team).
