As many of you may be aware, an organization called The Bay Area Houston Hockey Association (BAHHA) has been formed to promote the development of ice hockey in the Clear Lake and Houston Bay area. The organization is currently managed by an ad hoc board of directors which includes Greg Crawford, Tom Kuryk, Don Chronister, Jeff Stone, Judy DiMarco and Richard Allen. There will be elections held in the near future to establish the first board of directors once the ad hoc board has establised some initial bylaws for the association to operate under. We are optimistic that we will have ice in Clear Lake in the near future; however, we are aware that we must begin preparing for the 2004-2005 youth hockey season now. In the event ice in our area is not available at the start of the season, we will purchase ice for our programs from Sharpstown or Sugarland.
Besides ice (and we expect to have more definitive news by the end of May), the most urgent step in planning for the season is selection of Head Coaches. Currently we are planning to field Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget teams. The Board of Directors is forming a coach selection committee, and would appreciate input or help from any interested parties. So far, the members on the coach committee are: Mark Brown, Tom Kuryk, Victor Badillo, Jeff Stone. Please contact Mark Brown at mrbrown@houston.rr.com if you are interested in helping with, or have input for, the coach selection process.
We are accepting application for Coaches for the 2004-2005 youth hockey season. This would include summer camps. Please contact Mark Brown at mrbrown@houston.rr.com by May 14th. Please include an email address so that we can send you an application, and at least one phone number where you can be reached.
We have established this message board for people to share their thoughts and we will post information as it is developed:

Because the primary goal of the Association is to promote the development of ice hockey in the Clear Lake and Bay area, it is important to remember that our neighborhoods and schools are our player base. Any assistance in getting the word out (such as forwarding this note) that we have an ice hockey program focused on our local community, regardless of where we are skating for the time being, would be a great help.
